NEO MOBILITY INSTITUTE OF REHABILITATION SCIENCES COLLEGE OF PHYSIOTHERAPY, KALABURGI
BPT Degree Program
Four years of academic learning and comprehensive clinical training / internshipPUC / 10+2 Pass
Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) with 45% aggregate marksThe BPT program is taught in a student-centered manner using flipped classrooms, peer supported learning, simulated learning, bedside teaching, group discussions, seminars, case studies, journal clubs and conferences. The academic block is well equipped with practical labs such as biomechanics lab, electrotherapy lab and exercise therapy lab.
Active preparatory learning, interactive peer discussions, and case simulations during live classroom sessions.
Collaborative practical drills, peer assessments, and clinical problem-solving study cohorts.
Skill-lab practice with ergonomic simulators and models before direct patient interaction.
Real-time clinical training at our attached 100-bedded hospital under senior consultant physiotherapists.
Evidence-based clinical presentations, impairment analysis, and functional progress monitoring.
Regular appraisal of peer-reviewed international physical therapy research and advancements.
This education process enhances problem based learning which enables students to identify, discuss and analyse various dysfunctions incorporating institutional management as well as community based rehabilitation. The learning process is further strengthened during mandatory clinical postings across diverse hospital departments.
On completion of the course successfully the candidate would be able to achieve a satisfactory level of efficiency:
To detect and evaluate the anatomical, pathophysiological impairments resulting in dysfunction of various age groups.
To understand the rationale and basic investigative approach to the medical system and surgical intervention regimens and plan accordingly and implement specific physiotherapy measures effectively.
To be able to select strategies for cure and care; adapt restorative and rehabilitative measures for maximum possible independence of a client at home, work place and in community.
To maintain healthy relationship and co-partnership with various professionals in the health delivery system.
To promote health in general in geriatrics, womenβs health, industrial medicine as well as at competitive level such as sports, keeping in mind national health policies.
To practice professional autonomy and ethical principles with referral as well as first contact clients in conformity with ethical code of physiotherapists.
Safe, non-invasive therapeutic intervention aimed at restoring motor function and maximizing human potential.
Physiotherapy is a health care profession which includes assessment, examination, interpretation, diagnosis, planning, and implementing treatment plan and rehabilitative programs that improve and restore human motor functions, maximize movement ability, relieve pain syndromes, prevent and treat physical challenges associated with injuries, diseases and other impairments using broad range of physical therapies and techniques, but not limited to exercises, mobilization, manipulation, mechanical and electrotherapy modalities.
Physiotherapy as a profession has its role in various disciplines like Orthopedics, Neurology, Paediatrics, Sports Medicine, Cardiopulmonary conditions, General Surgery, and Community Based Rehabilitation. It is a safe, non-invasive mode of treatment without any adverse side effects.
Physiotherapists help patients to overcome a particular pain/problem by educating them about the problem and how to prevent the recurrence of the same. This is achieved by a thorough assessment, which may include tests of muscle strength, joint motion, sensory and neurological functions, coordination, balance, flexibility, postural screening, movement analysis and other evaluations.
Based on the evaluation, a treatment plan is drawn up. It may comprise instrumental or non-instrumental intervention. Physiotherapy has various hands-on techniques which include soft tissue mobilization and joint mobilization skills to reduce pain, increase joint motion and soft tissue flexibility. Therapeutic exercise will help to restore strength, movement, balance and coordination, and finally to a complete functional recovery.
Physiotherapists have a wide range of opportunities to work in India and abroad. There are various openings in super-specialty hospitals, outpatient clinics, nursing care homes, fitness clubs, sports teams, government and non-government organizations, specialized stroke clinics, and independent clinical practices.
